Quidd Mintables allow users to mint a digital collectible as an NFT on the Ethereum, BNB, and Polygon blockchains.

Blockchain technology has become more commonplace in people’s lives than ever before. That’s why Quidd believes in its potential to transform the digital collectible space. Going forward, digital collectibles that can be minted as NFTs, produced either by Quidd or through Quidd’s new partnerships, will be called “Mintables.”

Right now on Quidd, collectors can purchase a series of Mintables.

Quidd’s Mintable Mission

Quidd has served as the leading digital collectible marketplace since 2017 and ensures three core benefits for its users:

  • Permanence — the ability to own a collectible forever
  • Proof of Ownership — the ability to prove ownership of your digital collectible
  • Agency — the freedom and ability to do what you want with your collectible

Our idea of ownership, however, exists beyond just Quidd’s ecosystem.

At Quidd, true ownership means that holders have the right to keep, sell, and mint their collectibles either on-chain or off-chain. Whatever digital collectible you purchase, it is truly your asset. And to further that mission, we have been working tirelessly to bring mintable collectibles to Quidd.

Minting is the process of creating a digital file and copywriting it on the blockchain, all owned by the user in a crypto wallet. In the case of the majority of NFT projects, you have to hustle to get on whitelists for the chance to mint an NFT on the release date, sometimes paying ridiculously high gas fees to do so.

We at Quidd have been in the digital collectibles market for six years, continually listening to our community and doing our best to serve them. We’ll be introducing the option to mint digital collectibles as NFTs in the easiest way possible, both for crypto novices and the experienced crypto-native community.

How Mintables Work

With Quidd Mintables, we allow collectors to choose if they want to convert their digital collectible into an NFT on an eligible chain of their choosing, or simply keep it as a digital item. When you purchase a Mintable, the option is there, but the choice is up to you. We know that some fans will be completely satisfied just by collecting and completing sets of digital trading cards. And that’s perfectly fine — we’ve enabled our collectors to buy, sell, and cash out without ever having to touch an NFT.

As an added bonus, for any Mintable that is minted as an NFT on the Ethereum blockchain, Quidd will debit a user’s cash wallet to cover the gas fees. That asset then appears on OpenSea and is owned and stored in the crypto wallet linked to your OpenSea account. For a step-by-step guide on how to mint, please read this Medium article.

Why Mint a Digital Collectible as an NFT?

Digital collectibles, whether they are traded or sold, all come with a digital serial code that makes every card unique. With Quidd Mintables, each card still comes with a digital serial code, but if you choose to convert it into an NFT, its digital serial code will be stored on the blockchain and connected to your digital wallet. This ensures that you are the sole digital owner of your (now) NFT collectible, which also keeps a record of each transaction. Your NFT now gives you immutable proof of ownership.

Being able to show reliable and immutable proof of ownership empowers our collectors. This makes it possible to show provenance, especially when digital art and collectibles are fungible in nature.

How Does Ownership of Mintables Work?

Owning rare digital collectibles on Quidd gives you points and ranking on our leaderboards. Once a user decides to mint their digital collectible as an NFT, that metadata stays under your ownership on-chain and in the Quidd marketplace. As long as you are the owner of that minted collectible, those rewards also stay with you. But once you sell that minted collectible, you lose those rewards in the marketplace.

Overview of Quidd Mintables

  • Mint Escrow — A mint escrow, much like in real estate, is a waiting period wherein after your last cash deposit, you must wait 90 days before you can mint. This is to protect our collectors from wash trading or fraud.
  • Multiple Blockchains — Users can mint a digital collectible on Ethereum now. Support for BNB Chain, Polygon, and other blockchains will be added next.
  • Audited Smart Contracts — All of Quidd’s minting contracts have been audited and meet the top security industry standards.
  • Un-Minting — With true ownership comes the choice of taking an NFT off-chain as you feel. Quidd provides that option at your fingertips, so if you no longer want your digital collectible to be an NFT, it will be burned, with your item now solely a digital collectible within the Quidd ecosystem.

Note: All the details and points tied to a digital collectible will stay in a user’s account unless they sell it as an NFT on OpenSea.

The Future of Digital Collectibles and NFTs

If you’re ready to embrace immutable ownership and its benefits, Quidd makes it easy to get started. You can mint your collectible onto the chain of your choice and own your digital property rights forever. The result? Your NFT is now much more than just a digital collectible. It’s an official token that represents your proof of ownership (digital property rights), and it’s something that can be passed down from generation to generation.

With our Quidd Mintables, we’re keeping things the same while also giving users a more impactful choice. More information about Quidd Mintables will be announced soon, so follow Quidd’s channels for the latest news and updates.
